The Manitoba radio and TV stations photos from the John in Montana collection are listed in alphabetical order by call letters.
CFOX: The CFOX 1290 studios at 1445 Pembina Highway in Winnipeg photo is from 1989. This station is currently CFRW.
CJOB: The CJOB Radio 680 Winnipeg station photo is from 1989. The studios are located at 930 Portage Avenue. CJOB came on the air in 1946 on 1340.
They moved to 680 in 1957.
CKJS: The CKJS Radio 810 Winnipeg station photo is from 1989. CKJS came on the air in 1974. Their unique programming is presented in almost 20
different languages. They are located at 520 Corydon Avenue.
CKND: The 1989 photo of the CKND studios is of their 603 Saint Mary's Road, Winnipeg location. In 2008 they moved operations downtown
to Canwest Place. CKND TV Channel 9 started out as KCND-TV Channel 12 in Pembina, North Dakota in 1959. A rare move, in 1975 it became CKND Channel 9 Winnipeg.
Channel 12 came back on the air in Pembina in 1985 as KNRR, a satellite of KVRR Fargo.
CKO: CKO FM 99.1 Winnipeg was only on for about a year between 1988 and 1989. This station photo is from 1989. The 99.1 station
in Winnipeg is now CJGV-FM "Groove FM 99.1" which came on the air in 2003. CKO-FM has a news format.
CKY: The photo of the CKY Radio 580, CKY-TV Channel 7, and CITI-FM 92.1 Winnipeg studios is from 1989.
Sadly, CKY 580 was converted to FM 102.3 in 2004. CKY-580 came on the air in 1949. CITI-FM and CKY-TV channel 7. CKY-TV started out in 1960
as CJAY-TV. They changed to CKY-TV in 1973.
