The South Dakota radio and TV stations photos from the John in Montana collection are listed in alphabetical order by call letters.
KDLT-TV: The KDLT TV Channel 5 Sioux Falls studio photo of their 3600 South Westport Avenue location is from 1987.
Starting out in 1960 as KORN-TV in Mitchell and going through a few call letter changes ending up for a few years as channel 5 in Sioux Falls later
becoming channel 47. They are still located about a block from the Empire Mall as when the photo was taken in 1987.
KOTA: The downtown Main Street studio location photo for KOTA TV Channel 3 and Radio 1380 Rapid City is from 1973.
KOTA Radio began operation in 1936 as KOBH ("K"all Of the Black Hills). They were first located on the 11th floor of the Alex Johnson
Hotel (which can be seen in the photo). The call change to KOTA took place in 1945. KOTA-TV channel 3 came on the air in 1955. The on
air ID photo from 1970 shows the satellite stations KDUH Channel 4 Hay Springs, Nebraska and KHSD Channel 11 Lead.
KRSD: The station photo for KRSD Radio 1340 Rapid City is from 1973. The station changed to KTOQ "K-Talk" a few years later.
KVSR: The KVSR FM 97.9 Rapid City studio and tower photo is from 1973. This facility is currently KTPT "The Point 97.9"
KXRB: KXRB Radio 1000 and FM KKLS FM 104.7 was located in this building in 1988.
